Yana Zerkalova is a Paris-based photographer born in Sukhumi the capital of the former state of Abkhazia in Georgia. In 1991, after the war in Abkhazia, she moved to Greece, then to Ukraine, and finally settled in France. Yana speaks Russian, French, and English. Emerging as an independent international photo-artist Yana photo-art portrays her intimate sight of the world. Aside from her talent in photography, she has got exquisite experience as an architect, interior designer, furniture, clothes designer as well as small architectural forms.
Yana studied architecture and worked as a designer for five years in various design studios in Odessa before she fell in love with photography a few years later.
“Photography gives me the true sense of inner creative freedom so I capture the world the way it appears to be from my own end and share it to the world. My ultimate goal is to exhibit and convey emotions enclosed in my little pieces of art with people with people across the world.” says Yana.
